Yes ! Well done Cuala, great club and both games were brilliant. Micheál, time was you could say soccer was the main game in the 'Boro, senior clubs nearly all gone now, I'm not sure but I think T.EK. the only one left in Intermediate football and Cabinteely in senior.

Is Joes senior team on Tivoli Terrace still going ? I know they had a few changes at the top level and lost a good secretary in big Jim, things seemed to slide after that and last I heard was they were down to one team. I passed by the pitch recently and its not in use ..... the land was given to the Dept of Education by the de Vesci Trust and Joes had a long term lease if I recall correctly.

I don't know what adult sides are left in the 'Boro Toss, Joeys did play there for years, I was hoping Harjoe would fill us in on present clubs besides the ones mentioned. All the great clubs we had, Workers, Dalkey United, Dalkey Celtic, Dún Leary. Celtic, Farm United, Joes Glasthule, Rock Celtic, Booterstown, Pearse Rovers and Joes Sallynoggin and Hillside all with senior teams at one time or another and they were just the teams in my playing days. I'm sure I've forgotten other teams as well !
Harjoe has listed the older clubs that were there before my time.

Ah Keeper what about the super duper Cross Celtic who won the AUL Division 3 South in 1968/9 season, now it doesn't come better than that and I have the medal to prove it.

Mea Culpa Denis  how could I have forgotten the Cross, there was always at least one team bringing honours to the 'Boro every year, think I won Div 2 South with Booterstown around that time as well, maybe a couple of years later.

It is a great sight to see the red and white Cuala flags fluttering both sides of the road from the Graduate to the Noggin roundabout. Going through country towns and villages I am always struck by the number of team flags and today I felt great pride in place to see them fluttering along the Thomastown area. wuu wuu wuu

Such a shame, after all their success, that they are doing this to Cuala

Could do with help on this one - from those of you of a certain age.

This is St Michaels GAA Club, Sallynoggin in 1959 or 1960. I'm told it was run by or associated with CBS Eblana in the days before Cuala Boys was founded (1962)

I have identified 3 of the players
#02 Barney Rush ("The Craic was Ninety in the Isle of Man", "Nancy Spain"). I believe he was born in 1946 which is significant because all the boys were in the same class.
#03 Paul Keogh
#10 Pat Brock - later to become Chairman of Cuala

Any ideas who the otheres might be?

That'll be interesting Micheál ! I played with every one of that team ! I'm missing along with a few others because we were soccer players, I have an almost identical photo but of the school team with the majority of the players in that photo of Cuala, Eamonn Lawless and Paul Cahill went on to have good soccer careers.
