Something Rocker (I think it was) said before Christmas ,about the homeless and the lonely -stuck in my mind
So here's a sad but happy ending Christmas song-
It's a Kleenex job -nearly had me in tears and I wrote it

Maybe I was thinking of meself in the future
==========================
He wont be on his own come Christmas
-----------------------------
Well the nights are getting dark and longer
The days altho' bright are very very shorter
And decision time has arrived for old Bill
He has 3 days to make up his mind
Will he go.stay or hang back behind
He wont be alone come Christmas
-------
Well the guy called to the door last week
He smiled and said Bill you have a week
There's a place for you down in the County home
You'll have your own room, comforts and all
You can hang all your stuff on the wall
And you wont be on your own this Christmas
--Now Bill sat and he cried-tears flowed down his eyes
When he thought back on the good old days
He once had a wife and family
but they went their seperate ways
But he does'nt want to be alone -come Christmas
------------
Well that's the sad part------------
----------------------------
Well he went down to that home the other day
Was shown around and had to say
Everything looked so neat, spick and span
When they showed him his new room
TV, even a lock on his door
He knew he would'nt spend Christmas alone again
----------------------
Now he's sitting in the car
He's got momentos, photographs and his battered old guitar
And behind it all on his face -there's a little grin
As he walks up to the door
He looks back out once more
He wont be on his own come Christmas
-------------------
No he wont be on his own
Never again will he be alone
No sitting at the empty window pane
For there's another guitar player there
And they say there's a fiddle player
No he wont be on his own come Christmas
Words and music Tommy Knox.
