Jemser:

Shephards of Durrow are selling a couple of items next week which might interest you.
Lot 707 Rare Lighthouse Keepers Uniform and Cap from Tory Island
Lot 1272 Rare Antique Irish Lights Linen Flag
You came to mind when I was browsing the Catalogues. On 28th and 29th
November 'The Robinson and Maureen O'Hara Collections and other important
clients' are going under the hammer.
Let me assure you I won't be bidding for anything but I just love reading the
catalogues from this Auction House.

HI Sinead, thanks so much for the information and thinking of me. However I am in the good ole USA for a few weeks and will not be back until mid December. At the moment I am in Nashville Tennessee, just chilling and enjoying the music. Thanks again.

Good reading Toss. The Office series kind of nailed it somewhat.

When my boss used to really T me off I'd get my Dilbert book find an appropriate cartoon, enlarge it giant size, frame it for my desk....he knew it was for him but...

Non verbal communication .... love it wuu wuu wuu

I used to have a staff member who was always on the scrounge and working an angle. The only time he would be in my office was when he wanted something and after a while I got to know his 'tell' ... if he was chancing his arm, he would scratch his right ear during the conversation and generally drag out the situation as long as possible to see would I just give in. I was telling this story to a friend one day and he suggested that I put something yellow on my desk as according to him .... yellow is a big f-off colour and people will not look at it too long. So off I go and get a few large bright yellow lever arch files and upon my friends next visit, I put the two files in front of him on the desk, sure enough he was gone within minutes and I was in knots laughing ... those two files were put to good use for years

Thanks folks. I'm fine, and it's great to to be involved. I haven't posted much lately because I don't know much about some topics. It's not my place to inject opinions from Australia on local matters. I'm also not a sports lover, but I find it refreshing to see that it still thrives in the community. Keep it up.
I look in everyday and appreciate everyone who keeps the site alive, which makes me feel so bad for not joining in. That situation is easily fixed - just needed a wakeup call.
I haven't heard from Dancer either nd I hope she is OK. Miss her funny banter.

Come back Dancer, there again it is a very busy time for all the reindeer. I bet she is getting ready with Dasher, Prancer, Donner, Blitzen, Cupid, Comet, Vixen and Rudolph for the big sleigh pull in a few weeks. Come back Dancer....

The bit I love is "Live irish Music, no cover charge". Sure at those prices you have well and truly paid the cover charge.
I was lucky enough to get a Blue Book voucher as a big present and as I didn't want to go stay the weekend at one of the country houses we opted to eat at Dublin restaurants. We headed out to one of the named place, had heard of it but never been. Very pretentious. We felt rather uncomfortable. For starters a tiny glass of wine downstairs was 17.50 Euros each! then the meal which was nice enough. Total for 3 was almost 400 Euros!! Never again but, the place was packed with 30 somethings and it was a wet weekday night...no particular event!

I suppose I have been spoiled eating lunch at the Club in Dalkey for about 12 Euros and licking my chops after it.

I think we were never lifted by the Celtic Tiger tide and certainly can't cope with "Dublin" prices now

Well folks, I visited Grammer this afternoon. He is in the height of comfort in his
warm room and his son minding him. I gave him the good wishes of all of you.
Young Tommy said if any of his Dad's friends want to visit they are welcome, just
make sure it is after 2.00.p.m. He feels visitors are good for his Dad, the carers
are at the house in the mornings hence the after 2.00.p.m.
