haha Toss, you wouldn't get away with that today....the midgets would be in uproar, and all the "equality for midgets" people. And he'd have to change his name from Short......

She used to squeak when she was squeezed , a bit like meself :P

We had the crolly dollies made in Donegal...wonder how they made them??
What caught my eye was the beauty of the workers and their nail polish and clean hands etc...I'd be covered in the stuff and paint if I was working there!!

I had a Crolly doll as well . I remember looking at her in the shops for weeks and weeks and then on Christmas morning
I saw the big box under the tree and I was terrified that it wouldn't be a Crolly doll . I had her for years .
Yes , I too was struck by how well groomed the women in that video were but I remember all my aunties being turned out
In the same fashion back in the 60s/70s . Women always wore makeup and had their hair up .
I couldn't imagine having to put on full makeup every day for work , too time consuming .

Factories were a great place for keeping people on their toes fashion wise. All those gorgeous girls and fellows working together!! I was always jealous of the girls in Bradmola across the road from our house and the lads in the shirt factory in Brookfield...wow, talk about the diet coke ads...on our doorstep. The sad dull, dressed in black lot who travel on the DART now to Grand Canal Docks and the I.F.S.C and they think they have made it. Much more singing, chat, friendship, laugh in the factories.

Have just watched a fantastic documentary on RTE 1 - How to defuse a Bomb: The
Project Children Story - very moving. It is amazing what the vision of one person
can do, particularly when they are not looking for glory or reward.

The great Irish sell off.

No words, only I bet the programme (RTE) is only the tip of the Iceberg, as they say. BangHead

Well for my sins I was just watching Tommy Tiernan on RTE. Have to say he is very good doing interviews. He had Foster and Allen singing. I didn't know they were still on the go but, they were all right!!
