The Germans have not cruised through the group as per usual, they have had a few shakey moments along the way. If we can stay in their faces for 70 mins, then maybe we can nick a late goal. I certainly wouldnt rule us out as O'Neill is often at his luckiest when least expected ;)

Just in the door .... great night and the aviva was rocking like never before. We did exactly as I said above, we got in their faces and they were none too comfortable with it BUT when I said wait for 70 minutes, I didn't expect us to be so precise and score bang on time :D We certainly rode our luck at times, but every player on the pitch threw himself on the line when it came to defending and in the end we deserved the result as we kept our composure right to the final whistle.

Congratulation also to our friends in the north, its about time they were back in the big time.

Have to say Toss I did'nt really see that goal coming dontknow dontknow dontknow dontknow
First half all Germany -as they say, they were knocking on the door for the whole of the first half.
The second half -a game of two halves it surely was-
Saw Martin's secret strategy come into play-bring on Shane Long--- :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Betcha the Germans never copped on---
It will be all revealed in the papers Friday morning
Given getting injured and being replaced by what's his name
Tell you people that Martin is some shrewd manager.

Randolph the bald head keeper
Had some very shiny boots
And if you ever saw them
You would think that they could shoot

All of the other coaches
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Randolph
Play in any football games

Then one foggy Dublin eve
Martin came to say
Randolph with your boots so bright
Won't you set up Shane tonight?

Then how the others loved him
As they shouted loud with glee
Randolph the bald head keeper
You'll go down in history

Very good Jwdalk 10/10 wuu

Darren Randolophs dad is American and works as a basketball coach here, Im sure he is very proud of his son who was one cool customer last night.

There was probably about 5,000 German fans between those travelling, the Irish Germans and 'Irish traitors' who just want to be associated with winners and backed the wrong team  they all just watched in silence for the entire game such was Germanys failure to deliver.

Poland next and yer man Lewandoski ..... I wonder how he will fancy facing up to Richard Keoghs head bandage ? It would be some turnaround if we were to take the automatic place :o dream on ...........

What a great night we played for the first time with HEART and passion although the Germans had most of the possession we fought for every ball all the players deserve credit ,the crowd were fantastic the national anthem was sung with gusto ,No Ireland's Call ,best night in the Aviva , this is what we have been missing Germans had no answer they had plenty of the ball but could not score ,
This was back to the old Lansdowne Road when we took on allcomers and beat them France ,Holland etc when the crowd was worth an extra goal long may it continue bring on Poland .
Darren Randolph was born in Bray had the pleasure of working with him Robbie Brady , John O Shea , Shane Long at under 15 and 16 level.

Ah, interesting.....so, suppose you could have one guaranteed victory today and your choice is the clincher, which team would you choose?
Difficult to decide, but I think I would choose the soccer team.

Agree Jabra,he was very poor. Strange team selection, why change a winning team? Very disappointed with O' Neill, very negative. Hope we play better in the soccer play offs. Rugby was great though.

The Rugby was great. Well done all the lads.
Martin O'Neill chose the wrong team. Just couldn't watch it. Poland were not much better but deserved to win.

I have to say ( sorry Jaytee if you're looking in hellllo ) watching the soccer game was the
most boring hour and half ever. I'm not really a footie fan as such but I remember when I was a teenager
and the men in our house would be up screaming at the tele and there'd be gasps and sighs and the odd
oopsie daisy uttered but all I could see last night was divas diving on the ground and players passing the ball back and forth
without any real conviction. I was longing for someone to charge through the opposition and smash the ball in to back of the net. Is it something to do with the rules or has the passion just gone out of the game?
