Some more photos from Alaska.

This is at the top of the mountain course on race day, as you see it snowed on the day. This is one of the American team walking the course.

This gut is running in the Open Race for locals, they called him "The Bird man", do you like his running vest, complete with pins.
Image

This is Mt. McKinley known in Alaska as Denali, it is the tallest Mountain in the USA at 20,320 feet. This is taken from a little town called Talkeetna and it is the gateway to Denali national Park and a viewing point to see McKinley. The mountain is about seventy miles away from here.
Image

So if the mountain won't come to Mohammed...we just had to hire a plane and go to see this huge mountain.

Flying over the Glaciated valley near McKinley.

Close up of the Mountain peak from the aircraft, you can see the propellor bottom left.

Back on Terra Firma, this is Whittier where the cataraman leaves from for Prince William Sound Glacier tour.

Finally just a nice view near our hotel in Girdwood.

Here are a few photos of Bristol Tennessee. We were talking about it over on the "What are you listening to " Forum. I was particularly impressed with Jaytee research and I hadn't heard of the Sugarcoated pub Crawl, but apparently it's new for this year. I'm not fond of sweet things just show me the beef and leave me to it. Anyway here is the Burger Bar, Giant Guitar and a few more from the archives.

Obviously "The Burger Bar"

Jaytee, just in case you would like a pink guitar, they got them in Bristol.

This is a beautiful Art Deco theatre where everyone who is anyone in Music has played, sadly not used enough these days.

Car collectors display their old cars in a huge parking lot. The best time is Halloween when they have "Trunk or Treat" all the cars are decorated with ghosts and skeletons etc. and the "Trunk" if the car is filled with "Treats" sweets and goodies for the kids.

Dancer, just exactly how small are you, I do have a big suitcase.

Hope y'all enjoy now.

We forget in Ireland about the gun laws in U.S. we were in Williams in Arizona one year and the boys from the hills all had their six shooters and stetsons and ate their meals looking around for strangers....and that was us!!!!!

Hello from Tennessee, yesterday we cycled half of the Virginia Creeper Trail. The Creeper trail was originally a railway line to haul timber and goods, you can look it up on the internet. It is 34 miles long and is now a walking and cycling track, you can hire bikes and they transport you and the bike to White Top mountain about 3,500 ft high. We then cycled half way to down the trail 17 miles to a place called Damascus. Here are a couple of photos of a very preety place and trail.

You can cycle the whole 34 miles but we have cycled the lower half before. It was a beautiful day about 27 degrees and sunny, as we rolled down from White top. We are now off to Hungry Mother State Park for a walk and a swim in the lake, see you later.

Jemser,

No wonder you are fit. That heat just kills me ...can't imagine cycling 17 miles...even at home in the cool. Great pictures..HID is off taking some himself but will be jealous of you. Enjoy.
