Stunning Jem, fantastic photos. I spot a tiny cottage on one of the cliffs, it doesn't get much more remote than that eh! :D

Mentioned in another thread that I was walking in town today, along the canal and into Stephens Green. Here are a few photos, just taken on the phone, showing the stunning autumn colours in Dublin on a sunny Autumn afternoon.

Wow great shots Jem. Good studies for paintings, the one with the house reflected on the water looks like a Renoir painting. Really good shot that one. ;)

Gorgeous shots there Jemser. Every season has it's rewards. I just love the low sun that makes the golden light. Talk about going to New England for the colourful trees....sure, we have it all at home.....
My lifetime's ambition was to go to Japan to see the cherry blossom and eventually this year we went. Such a let down, the trees were nothing spectacular. When I got home our own cherry blossom was in full bloom and it would take the sight out of your eye...sure, "we have Anerica at home" as me mudder used to say.
I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

Thanks everyone for all the kind remarks. I was checking back on my posts in this thread and noticed that a lot of my photos have disappeared. So I am going to go back and try to re upload them from Flickr, but first I have to get them onto Flickr. Losing Imageshack and all the photos was a real blow, but I'll see if I still have the files, so stand by. Thanks again.

P.S. have just done the very first post in this thread, Athenry Castle. Wasn't too bad to do, so hopefully I'll restore all the posts over the coming months, good ol' Flickr.

Just a quick report from Memphis for anyone that is interested. Photos will follow when I get a chance to upload some, maybe next week. Arrived yesterday afternoon in glorious sunshine, missed a wonderful photo from the plane. As we flew over the mighty Mississippi River we could see the sun glistening all along the river as it meandered towards the horizon. It was about 20 degrees yesterday and we went down to Beale St. for some lunch. We dined al fresco and listened to a live band playing in the garden, then went to explore along Beale. Last night we ended up in Silky O'Sullivan's and watched two great musicians playing pianos and singing. It was still going when we left at two a.m.

Today we went to see the duck March at the Peabody Hotel and afterwards we went to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel. This was really excellent and covered the history very comprehensively. The museum is housed in the motel in which M. L. King was assassinated, it is well worth a visit and we spent three hours there. We had dinner at the Central BBQ and back to the hotel for a rest, before heading out later on tonight. Tomorrow it's Graceland and Sun Studios and the weather is to be good and sunny. wuu
