Here's an article with an intro and a couple of the models reviewed are listed in the above link

Thanks Gerald, I’m totally lost now . As you sY , so many possibilities.
I have a DSLR but I want something smaller for travel and the Canon SX730 seems like a good option .
I think I am almost 100% going to go with that .

Ger a question please. I've made an offer on a lens, no interest in the Camera, lens only "Canon 500 film camera with 35-80mm zoom lens"
Will that lens work on my Canon Rebel, 350D? Thanks.

Should work fine Strum. The EF lenses used in the film cameras are compatible with DSLR's. Do bear in mind that the 350D effectively converts that lens to
55-130mm approx as it has a cropped sensor.

If I were you, I'd be plugging one of those compacts to Dancer, so you can have her lenses. ;)

If I ever don’t need my lenses , you’ll get first refusal Strum dnc1

Dancer,

To put the cat among the pigeons...HID likes Fujifilm x-T1 or Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1

The Fujifilm camera has interchangeable lenses, but you won't be able to use your Canon lenses.

Tha panasonic camera is a compact without interchangable lenses. Both do RAW and have viewfinders. The latter very useful in bright light.
I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

Thanks for all the recommendations , I think I have narrowed it down to three models;

Canon SX730. https://www.connscameras.ie/p/canon-pow ... 4574647500

Sony RX100 MK11 https://www.connscameras.ie/p/sony-dsc- ... 5524948707

Panasonic Lumix TZ90https://www.connscameras.ie/p/panas ... 5232867868

Which of these would you choose ? I know its all about personal choice but lets just say I offered you a choice of one of these models
no obligation to get it right, just a camera from me to you :D which one ???

Thank you wuu dnc1 hellllo

I would be inclined to choose the Lumix I think; either that or the Sony. But the price difference is a lot between the two. So, without a huge amount of conviction, I'd go with the Lumix........or a new fridge.

for 495 euro and in 35 days time I can claim an extra 40 euro cashback :D Now I just have to figure out how to use it
