I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.

One of the guys is doing well in the shopping centre, I was asking him if he ever thought of starting up the shoe club again. Ummm he said he'll think about it. :D

Thanks for tip Strum,
Must send HID down there. Now that we are retired we will be shopping local. We had got into the habit of buying near the job in Dublin city.

Last couple of times I was down no sign of pickets,so I'm assuming that it has been settled. For the workers I hope they got good deal.

I saw it too, Christmas week. They're not always there but I guess they have lives to live & hopefully other jobs to go to. Wonder will it go on as long as the Pub strike, was it 14 years ?

I have to say -
I think it's a lost cause -
if the guys who work there are not on picket duty
well who can be blamed for passing non-existant pickets (not me I add -cos I was never into high heels and ladies black leather boots)
but if there is a strike on -there should be always someone on picket duty
no ifs and buts-
and their case has been weakend by the opening of the shoeshop in the centre -cos thats two former members gone -

now I know the guys to talk to and have for donkeys years -
but their obvious non picketing is doing them no good what so ever
A strike is a strike -there always has to be someone on picket duty while the premises is open.

Can't disagree but then there may well be health reasons.Real shame that workers who between then had given 108 years loyal service should be treated so badly.

Don't know any of the ins and outs of this dispute, but nobody seems to have any pity for Connolly - did he not lose his livelihood also????

Thats a big wooden spoon you have there Grammer

Far as I know, Connollys just changed the name of the shop due to adverse publicity and are still in business (could be wrong though).

I think that there's only one lad doing the picketing now and I don't think he enjoys the best of health and maybe that's the reason for the intermittent picketing. Very sad to seeing it go on for so long.
