Hi Strum, I found this brilliant site just before Christmas last and I'm still working my way through it - and very interesting work it is too! So it was with great shock and sadness that I found about Rachel's death. I knew and was very fond of her but that was when she was very young, early 60's and of course I lost touch but never forgot her. But even though very young she was a fascinating creature, different from anybody I've ever met, generous, intelligent, curious, fearless but also dark and mysterious and maybe even slightly dangerous.I was familiar with her family as I'm from the Farm, she had three older sister's, Jenny, Brita, Sarah and younger sister and brother Rosaleen and Kevin, father was a psychiatrist and mother a renowned poet and gaelgoer and as Enviro has pointed out really nice people. There was an interview with Graham Knuttel in yesterday's' Indo' and he talks briefly about her giving information that I knew nothing about re; her problems etc., and I have to say I'm really saddened at the thought of somebody so beautiful having a hard and short life.So have you any info on where she is buried as I'd like to pay my respects? RIP Rachel.

Great to see old posts resurrected. Yes Slipper what a waste of a beautiful spirit to Heroin. There have been so many. I'm trying to find out where she was buried but I have an inkling that she was cremated. I'll let you know.
Coincidence you brought this up because Illy Billy passed away three weeks ago and we are putting on a night in the Club to commerate his life this Saturday night and Graham is going to try and make it if he's not away at the weekend. Cheers. ;)

Funny how we remember the prices. My first single was "G'bye to Jane" by Slade 42p, and I had to save for that. The Record Shop was at the corner at the Church. Now a Bank/Building Society. Anybody rerember the name of that Record Shop?

Wow! Good find Grammer! A very young Ian Dempsey. Looks like Murrays under Captain America's or the one in D/L Shopping Centre.

Re: Mackers .
Hi Enviro , I remember Mackers well , the owner let us roam & play as we pleased ,The things that stuck in my mind, Old cars locked in garages ( well until we found them ) ect . one time we were playing cards ( Pontoon 21s ) A Policeman appeared from nowhere & started to take our names as we were on private property , The Owner seeing what was happening came to our rescue & told the Garda to get off his land , The Father & the 2 girls + 1 boy I can recall .
