We don't know the marvellous work that is going on right under our noses.
I watched Nationwide last evening and they did a report on Bray Lakers. I was moved to tears. If you get a chance watch it on the RTE player.
Here is the website for the lakers,

Sinead,

I love looking at a site rootschat.org and the other day one of the helpful researchers referred a query to this site swilson. I don't know who he is but there are gems on his site and I hope he doesn't mind me sharing...here is an ad from the site of the Royal Marine Hotel

What a lovely ad for the Royal Marine. It was I believe the first building in Dunlaoghaire/Kingstown to have electricity.

I take it Jackie still lives in Bray? Do you ever run into him, Denis?

On and off. He plays golf in Bray, he was captain there a couple of years back. I met his brother Pat a couple of weeks ago and I was asking about him. He said that he was recovering from an illness but was doing fine. That's about as much as I know, if I hear anymore I'll let you know. I posted the photo on to me daughter, who knows Pat, so maybe I'll hear something back

The air show is going to be great. I have been watching planes doing manoeuvres all week. Roll on the Red arrows wuu wuu

If you find Bray too busy go to Killiney beach where you will see quite a lot with no queues and pushing and shoving.

I showed the photo of the Bray football team to a friend who lives in Killester, two of her uncles are on that
team! How small is Ireland.

you will all probably have seen the EIRE sign which was exposed on Bray Head following the recent fires. Four local lads started to restore the sign yesterday and it is looking great at the moment.

Bit of historical background " The signs were built by the Coast Watching Service by the summer of 1944 to warn "belligerent" aircraft that they were flying over a neutral country. Up to 150 tons of stone were used in some of the 83 signs dotted around the coast of Ireland. At the request of the United States air force the number of the nearby lookout post was added, turning the signs into air navigation aids. This assisted American bomber pilots in navigating across the Atlantic."
Ref Michael Kennedy - Guarding Neutral Ireland."

The one at Bray is number 8 and the lads will paint this next.

The four lads are Michael Larkin, Declan Carroll, Aidan O'Toole and Declan Hogan wuu wuu wuu
