progress/ moving on

Postby grammer » Mon Jan 05, 2009 2:27 am

today without any prior warning --but after a lot of discussion an old and trusted member of our house was placed in the back of our daughter and son in laws car and driven away without really a second glance thought or a tear-
this member had served and performed its duties without fail from the day way back when it wa proudly placed in the same spot as from where it departed today-
now thats not to say it wasnt moved around from one end to the other
It'll be better down that end and it'll be handy -and perform better-
months/years later to be moved again -on its top it held bills ( )
letters -invitations -begging letters -baseball caps -keys-books -newspapers -the lot

the day it arrived in the house it was treated with the utmost care-cleaned up everyday -think that lasted for about 3 days

but brought back memories of the first one ever in the house -cost a good bit at the time -we read the book thaty came with it for about three days before we even plugged it in :D :D
one of me friends came in and said ahh thats brill -gimme an egg and I'll show you (sorry forgot to mention this was late on a sat. night (after the pub  ) so what can you expect) the egg was duly pierced three or four times -put in and we watched with excitement -there was a big bang and the 'ucking thing expoded and sent yolk everywhere
took three days to clean out
but this new addition cost about the same as a round of drinks for the first member meeting i had the pleasure of attending
but doesnt have the same attraction as the very first one
jaaaz havent we come a long way all the same
when we were kids a fridge was a little wooden box outside on the wall -for the butter and milk

the washing machine was a thing that mrs . whatsher name in gleageary or colimore had
as for a hoover
If you wanted to see some of those things you could always look in clearys window if you got to go in during the year
have to go now and check that theres no dust on the new microwave :D :D
