Strum,
Brilliant Film on Dalkey. However if I can correct the Prooducer, It is NOT in 1957 but more loke 1961 as the Austinn A40 (priest's car ) carried a PYI reg. number then nerw. as is the car on film. The Buses (my pets ) were the Leyland RA class and they carry a Reg. number CYI 6xx etc and thses went into service in early 1959 after a row with the Unions over pay rates for the conductors as the buses were 74 seaters and no the standard 68, I think they got an extra 1/6 a day (about 71/2 pence in Punts)...The later colour bit looked a bit later with the early 1960s fashions... I would love to see this 8mm cine cleaned up as it would make even greater Dalkey archive material.
Enviro.
Thanks again Strum

Well found Strum !! enjoyed that !! even spotted Dom McClure hard at work in his hairdressers shop, he was a great friend in later life, played football with his son Dave and his other son Peter was a referee of repute, thanks for that.

Strum, That is some video have just spent a half hour trying to see who I knew. My mother was born in Dalkey and we had lots of cousins etc.there Didnt the people look so smart. No slinking around in scruffy jeans or Pyjamas and they would have been broke then but took pride in how they looked. Could that be cleaned up to show in Dalkey Town Hall. I'd say everyone would come to see who they could see.
I am not afraid of tomorrow, for I have seen yesterday and I love today.
