Hi Bugrock and Keeper

I do not have Sonny Hayden on record but he may be one of the younger generation. If any info on him comes to mind, let me know.

Many thanks for the welcome.

I don't think his name would be "Sonny " on his birth certificate, I can't recall what Christian name " Sonny " alludes to.
Yes, Bugrock, I also believe he was from Glasthule or thereabouts.

If a son was given the same name as the father he was sometimes called Sonny.

Alibe was the Mr.Hayden's name it is an Irish name.

Hi Sinead

Many thanks for the info. Is Alibe the Irish name for Archie or Arthur ?. I have a feeling that his name may have been shortened to Archie by his relatives.

Donno,
Have never come across Alibe before, but if it was actually Ailbhe you'll be surprised to see what the English equivalent is:

Matthew Hayden married Elizabeth Morris in the early 40s. I think both came from the glasthule area. They're my grandparents. Does anyone remember who their respective parents were ? Any info would be greatly appreciated

I knew Sonny Hayden from a distance. Too many years have passed.
My grandparents lived in Eden Terrace near the Haydens. The name Lawrence Crawley may ring a bell. Grandad lived in 22 Coldwell St in the 20's where I think my father Frank was born.
Best I've got. Good luck

The Haydens I'm trying to research lived in no 1 findlater st. My grandfather was Matthew Hayden & his sister was Doll Hayden who later lived in 44 Coldwell st. I'm trying to find out who their parents were. I've had no luck with the census or other records. Can anyone help with tips or information.

Wish I could jog the memory. I lived at 46 Coldwell until 1960 or 61. Some names ring a bell, keep 'em coming.
