His brother, "Locky" Butler, was a former Irish rugby international, who died at quite a young age.

Don't know how Daithi got in here but I had forgotten all about him. Worked for most of my life with Flan O'Riain's brother.. a giant of a man.

Jayz Rocker,

Got me names wrong twice in the one day.

I thought Daithi Lacha was the brainchild of Eamon de Buitléar (RIP). But you're right as usual . . .

Go way outa dat. I think I know how it happened....Skins mentiioned Eamonn's brother "Locky"...the old word association. Anyway, Eamonn probable knew Flan ... the Ryans were big time into Irish music and would I'm sure they crossed paths. I think I remember some old footage of Eamonn with the Chieftains and Sean O'Riada... me auld head is getting cloudy!!Eamonn told a story once on the radio about when he owned a pet shop and it was awsome in its simplicity.

I think he only became famous after he died, is that correct? Sad how a lot of famous people seem to die young :(

I think the world already knew the genius that was Buddy. For a young man, compared to todays youth, he was exemplary in his dedication to music. Buddy lives! RIP Buddy. scry

I think Grammer is a Fenderman too, so he would know what Buddy did to his strings and how he played. Good on you Grammer.

Sad to just hear of the passing of Milo O'Shea. Met him when I was a loungeboy in The Queens and he was really down to earth and chatty. Always liked the characters he played. May he Rest in Peace.

Yes, Milo seemed to be a true gent. Never seen him act in the flesh as it were but back in the 60,s we young fellas pushed his little car up Glenageary road towards the Noggin in the snow. Wasnt he married for a time to Maureen Toal who played (I think) Teazy in Glenroe.

Loved his definitive rendition of "Phil The Fluter's Ball" ( on Late Late?) and his hillarious portrayal of the tipsy tailor threading a needle. Masterful.

Hated Me Mammy and all who sailed in her. Worst Oirish contribution to Uk TV ever. Ive always been amazed at how such an otherwise competent team of actors/writer could create something so brutal - Anna Manahan, David Kelly, Milo, Hugh Leonard.

Ok, it was the " worst" at the time but has been surpassed by Mrs Brown's Boys.

Our dear Mum passed away last Saturday morning. We were very lucky to have her in our lives for so long, she was just 2 months short of her 88th birthday. She was a very popular little old lady and had a big crowd of people at her funeral last Tuesday. We,ll miss her but we have some wonderful memories. Rest well Peg.
