Farmboy, I've used it, no big deal just a new interface, new security etc, but you can always switch back to the Classic XP View at the click of your mouse if you don't like the new look!

I've had it for a year now Grammer since the BETA (test) version. The beta was full of problems but the newest release is great. Tabbed browsing is so handy. Takes a bit of familiarising with but I wouldn't look back now.

The sattelite cable is broken so I still have to wait till next week for an engineer to come out. Crap service, so I may look for a new ISP! ;-)

Crap Service..... you want to hear about Crap Service!!?? I ordered an Eircom connection for a home phone line when my guy moved to Germany so we could talk for free, his phone company gives him free calls to land lines!. He's been over there for 5 weeks and we haven't spoken as his connection's not strong enough for Skype!

I'm getting my connection tomorrow hopefully. The engineer's coming between 9am and 1.30pm. I've taken the day off work 'cos you can bet if I don't they'll turn up at 1.30pm LOL

I don't have any answers for you Grammer, sounds to me like an eircom online SCAM check and I never go near any of that crap. They will always tell you there's something wrong of course so you will pay to right something that probably doesn't matter anyway.
NEVER do online scans!

I have...

Spybot..

http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-D ... 22137.html

AdawareSe

http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/3 ... 45910.html

CCleaner

http://www.ccleaner.com/

AVG

http://free.grisoft.com/

Zonealarm

http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Firew ... 39884.html

They are all anybody needs for a clean machine...
I never get viruses etc...

They are all free!

Doing a weekly scan of your pc with Spybot, AdawareSe, and CCleaner (stands for crap cleaner!) will get rid of spyware and (optimise) speed up the performance of your machine.
If you're ever going to use CCleaner please ask me first because it can seriously screw with you pc if you scan and delete entries in the registry.

Hope this helps! :D

Ps...tell me what you have on your pc? Firewall? Anti virus etc?

Grammer, download CCleaner, spybot and adawareSe from the above links...don't scan anything yet though.
What firewall are you using? Windows firewall?

I'm not sure Grammer, it opens fine for me.
Try it again but before you click on the link hold down your Ctrl button first. It may be your pop up blocker preventing the page from being opened.

There are 2 tabs, the applications and windows.
First click on the windows tab and it's safe enough to tick everything I have ticked here...

Image

Then click on the applications tab and tick everything except for "Regedit" at the bottom. The registry is basically the brain of the pc and CCleaner can seriously mess up some programs so leave that unticked.

Some things like internet history, automatic form filling are up to you, and some of the applications here may be different from yours so check through the list anyway.
Then click on "Run Cleaner" it only takes a minute or so.
Restart your pc and it should be much faster!
Any questions fire away! Good luck!
