I am searching Christopher McGrath

Postby helenmcgoldrick29 » Tue Mar 29, 2016 8:48 pm

Hi everybody

I am just new to this site.

I recently discovered that one of my relatives Christopher McGrath was a resident of this school back in 1901ish after his father died.

Do any of you how I could go about trying to find him.

Thanks,

Helen.

Do you think that Christopher was at one of the orphanages in Dún Laoghaire?

what else do you know of Christopher?

There is a Christopher in the 1901 census living at Salthill Place

but his father is still alive in the 1911 census living at Old Dunleary

In the 1911 census there is a Christopher McGrath aged 12 in Artane School

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/s ... renLiving=

he had been 2 years old in the 1901 census and living at Gordon Place.

From that family of Edward McGrath at Gordon Place the son Patrick also shows up at Artane School in the 1911 census and John who would have been about 18 at the time of the 1911 census...probable match working as a farrier (like Edward his father) at House 1 Aberdeen Terrace
