36 .... scary, I always thought he was older.
Great talent wasted, but sadly not uncommon in these parts.

Toss,
God is it 25 years already and just a lad..I remember seeing him many a Sunday night at Club Caroline in Glasthule as the lead up band before 'The Chosen Few'...I think the band was the Black Eagles, a dim memory, circa 1966 and Phill would only have been 16 years old..
A sad loss of such talent indeed.

True conversation at a work night out, just as the local band struck up "The Boys are back in town". . . .

Micheál: "Of course, you know I did stage security for them at their Dalymount gig, them and Graham Parker & the Rumour" (this was true)
Workmate: "Well, what d'ya know, my Mam babysat Phil when he was a kid" (also true)
Micheál:"Well top this, my missus delivered Sarah" (no kiddin')
Workmate:"You win"

I don't like that statue of Phil.

It looks like its out of a Rock version of Subbuteo

Or maybe its just the base I dont like. (The bit on the ground that is, not the instrument.)

Don't think so Goucho, just mindless vandalism, that's how it is in this country nowadays, and to think how hard Rocker, Gullivar and many more throughout the land work to present us in a better light and then you have scumbags like this,

Can't understand that kind of mindless carry on, it seems to be across the board with a lot of young people today.....not a ounce of respect for anything. Lot's of Community Service would sort them out ........Maybe ;)

Would be interesting to know what is exactly involved in Community Service these days, as the only real work I see being done out in the community is by the generousity of local community activists. Certainly sounds like Rocker could do with a hand around the church, but knowing todays political correctness .... its probably not allowed due to health n safety concerns
