Bless me Führer for I have sinned. It's been 2 days since I picked up the latest discarded refund ticket on the 7.

Have to admit I used to pick them up all the time when i was in town. In the city centre people just dropped them at the bus stops and on the seats. Made a packet too.

Buses!!!!!!!
All human life in it's many guises you will find there.!!!!
Hows about that for an opener??????
One a bus tonight -must be a collage or UNI late night course somewhere in town-
young and old on the bus -
apart from the girls who seemed to be part of their I-phones-I think every girl now has one implanted to their hand when they are born-
even young mothers on trains darts and planes just stare at the screen of their phones -little babies screeching away -what is mam/mom/mother doing???
shes on her I-phone of course-for cks sake you cound'nt really expect her to talk or play with baby when she's busy -telling the world on fkboook that's she's on the bus-or showing off her new profile pic.
old guy in front has his headphones on ---studying the theory of evolution and listening to ELO-
Two other big fat eeejits down the back half pissed shouting about how Giggsy is gonna be the king in Old Trafford in about 3 years time and the way some of the fans hired a plane to fly over Landstown RD. last night with the banner====Giggsy 13==Gerrard 0
Another guy is typing away like mad on his pad-----maybe posting on this site
Some other guy has his head up against the window and is snoring his brains out ---his snoring sounded a little like bagpipes -I kinda sounded like a version of Donald wheres your troo   sers
Just an ordinary bus journey

I love it Grammer...been on that bus...but, doesn't it beat the buses of the 60's..when we had no bathrooms and very few clothes...Gawd the overpowering smell of pongy clothes, B.O. smelly boys,URyan, chips and vinegar not to mention ciggies...and there was always the odd bods who sat beside you and in a big whiskey breath put the world to rights while squeezing you up against the window....hicking and coughing!!!!

Great posts, evokes lots of memories. No one speaks to anyone else on the bus these days.
It drives me mad when they shout "I'm on the bus. Where are ya?" That seems to be the full
Extent of the very important conversation!
rocker you forgot the fellow who always sat beside you even though the bus was half empty
And then he kept fixing his shoe and rubbing against your leg and you nearly out the window
Because he was so close to you!

Gulliver, I would date the old photo of the buses on that "diversion" to be 1950's or maybe early 1960's. I can't make out the 4th bus, as it's almost out of the picture. As for the crowd of people, it might be that the first bus is broken down, & the second one is the relief. The next one might be just happening upon the scene. First & third buses are definitely 1950's vintage. The second bus looks like one of the 'Boltons", making it 1948 vintage. The one @ the very back is barely in the picture, & I just can't see what type it is. If it's an RA class, the picture was taken no earlier than 1959.

They have been talking about this for ages. Will be interesting to see who tenders.

A lot of those Dublin Bus routes will affect us here. Wonder if they will take the free pass....most times when I am on the 114,75 or 45a it is pensioners.
