Moan of the Month

Postby brandy » Wed Feb 03, 2010 1:50 am

I am fed up of getting phone calls at home asking to speak to a family member, when i say sorry they are not in and ask who is it or what it"s in connection with i am told sorry cant say "Data protection act" so i now take a stand when they ask when will they be back or ask for a mobile No i reply, Sorry cant tell you that
"Data protection act" it really pi***s them off.

Yeah its a nuisance Brandy. The best way to sort out them callers is, say to them hang on and i will get the person you are looking for, and just leave them waiting, they will soon get peed off.........

yeh agree guys and its always around 6-7pm in the evenings --
----
had NTL calling for a while -talking broadband -phone -
then telling me that I had to set up direct debit
my answer each time was yes I want the broadband offer and NO I will not sign up for direct debit -as I am already a customer-
"just set an account up for the first month"
NO _NO NO!!!!!!!!!
-
rang NTL myself asked about the broadband and phone -yes
28 per month -"will it be added to my bill?"YES-
Its installed the last 2 weeks and its flying :D :D

I think these callers are working for seperate companies and operating on a commission basis -

yesterday it was Vodaphone -"do you want your phone bill cut in half ??
yes I said! im with NTL -yer man said ok and goodbye :D :D

most of these cold callers are working to squeeze in as many calls as possible to meet targets
My really cruel other half keep talking to them with a series of "really?" "is that so" "go over that again" "can you explain it differently" type statement followed by a repeat it again ones until they grow tired!
His theory is the'll black list us for wasting their time!! Strangely enough we haven't had a call for a while..............!

My moan of the the month for April
Havent we come a long way :D
listening to the radio or watching the TV news or reading the papers-about the flight disruptions

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwdddd your heart would bleed for the poor people who had to slum it on their way home after being stuck in the far flung corners of the globe ----
holy mudder of all thats holy -its terrible -
having to coach it back to ferry ports and travel by bus, trains -how low can you go -

our new Irish are not able to manage at all having to travel without being waited on hand and foot --
crying to Joe on the Whineline--no proper facilities Joe -no showers -Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzz-having to eat sambos and drink tea--Gaaaaawwwwd -it must have been awful for them -no bottled spring water-no hairdressers or manicurists-------------gaaaaaaaaawd it gets worse--
on the train I was on there was a well known singer and his wife plus his Z list daughter and her current boyfriend --
now they didnt complain (as far as Im aware) -but the Z lister "missed her pony" -ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaz
now that is fking cat isnt it

Above all Brandy you must not give any details of you bank account etc over a telephone and try to avoid ringing Numbers starting with the figures 090. That number will cost you at least,£1.50 per minute and be wary of callers saying they are ringing from your bank, gas supplier and other . We get these calls regularly but have learned to avoid the scams.

Mobile phones are a great asset....BUT..I went to visit a friend recently, hadn't seen them in years, and every 10 minutes or so their moby went off..and it was 'sorry. have to answe this'...like do you want to talk to me who is in the same room as u..or talk to someone who isn't.
Rule in our house, when someone calls, TV off and moby ignored while they are there, u can always call back !!!!???? My moby does go off, but I leave it while the person is there, then call back when they leave. When I was overhearing conversations while I was in the room, I was uncomfortable. Won't visit again for a few more years. Some people are like Pavlova's dog, bell goes off, have to react. Like, if you don't answer, they will leave a message....That's my grey Monday morning moan done....have a nice day, all.
