Spud, for once we can say 'twas not the weather , we had a really good Winter, no severe prolonged frosts like the last couple of years, so, as Gulliver said himself, it must have been the Household Charge or he put the rent up too high

Hope so Gulliver,I'm sure even the birds are being confused by the weather at the moment. Saw a sad sight yesterday when out for a walk with me grandson,a new born bird (we use to call them scalls) dead on the footpath. Dont know how it got there as there wasn't any trees nearby. :(

Terry Flanagan, the RTE expert on Bluetits and other matters ornithological and botanical sent me the following message today.

Hi
A favour.. Could you go to the website http://www.treeoftheyear.org/?lang=en and vote for Ireland's entry, "King Oak".

Thanks a million.

Done - must go this year and find my tree that the Government gave me. I want to carve my initials on it and have my pic taken . Hope they haven't sold it
